Nighttime fussiness is common in newborns, but that doesn’t make it any less exhausting. To soothe a fussy baby at night, start with the basics: check if your baby is hungry, needs a diaper change, or is too hot or cold. Gentle movement like rocking, swaying, or a slow walk can be calming, especially when paired with soft shushing or white noise. Swaddling can provide a sense of security, while skin-to-skin contact helps regulate their breathing and heartbeat. Dimming the lights and keeping a quiet, consistent routine can also signal that it’s time to wind down. Most importantly, remind yourself that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed—you're doing your best, and this phase won’t last forever.
